Epson Powerlite 30C Projector

Epson’s 30c LCD projector ties for the least expensive new projector on the market, and offers real value with a conservatively rated 800 lumens, in a 6 pound package. In addition it is designed to perform well for not only business and education applications, but also as a home theater projector, with its special cinema filter. The Powerlite 30c projector is an outstanding value, and priced to move.

800 Affordable Lumens of Brightness
Sporting Epson's new 0.5 inch LCD glass, the 30c provides a crisp SVGA image with plenty of power for smaller room applications. It will do exceptionally well in the education market as well, where it has plenty of power for classrooms, and Epson's reputation for long term reliability.

True Portability
For those that are traveling extensively by plane, sure there are 2.5 and 3 pound projectors around, but they cost far more. At 6 pounds the Epson certainly is portable enough for the majority of mobile presenters.

SVGA Resolution - And Great on XGA
The Powerlite 30c projects a true SVGA image, which is not a typical resolution for newer laptops, but this projector does compress up to XGA. The compression technology is better than average, but not up to the best Epson offers (on their 600p model). For Powerpoint type presentations the 30c performs excellently.

Full Featured Back Panel
The 30c LCD projector has the typical back panel inputs found on most small projectors but unlike many, it has a monitor output, making it a great choice for desktop presenters and not just laptop users. This is especially important in classrooms and training labs.

Free Sound
Despite the low price, the 30c has speaker and audio inputs.

Remote Control
This projector comes with a "credit card" remote, and when not in use, it stores conveniently in a door on the front of the projector. It handles all menu and other functions except remote mousing. For remote mousing you'll need a third party solution, which fortunately are very affordable.

HDTV Compatibility - Epson Color
The 30c, offers HDTV support - impressive for such a low cost projector. Colors are surprisingly good, and dynamic. Epson provides a snap on "Cinema filter", that when used with the appropriate menu settings, is designed to provide the best color on movies. If you need a low cost projector for your home, or for business and you want to also use it at home for "theater", Epson had you in mind with the Powerlite 30c

The Best Menu System in the Business
Number one help menu on our lists. There is not an interface out there that has the ease of use as the Epson help and troubleshooting guide. Besides the typical projector adjustments that can come with these menus, the transparent menu really helps you make your adjustments without obstructing your view. The troubleshooting is a definite plus if you have several users who need the basic help on making adjustment to the projectors image and a manual is not readily available. Only thing that I do not like is that you need the remote to access menus. So don't lose it. Fortunately with the convenient compartment to store the remote, that shouldn't be a problem

Easy Setup
A superb feature on the 30c projector is the digital zoom, which replaces having a zoom lens. With it you can make the overall image larger or smaller, or zoom in on one part of the image.

Adjust to 16:9 Aspect Ratio
The aspect ratio can be quickly changed from standard 4:3 (computer screens, TV, VCR) to 16:9 for DVD and HDTV.
